Model Facility Program: Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity

Memphis, Tennessee

National Housing Prototype

Treanor Architects is working with Pi Kappa Alpha National to create a Model Facilities Program to be distributed to Pi Kappa Alpha chapters nationwide. Four different sized fraternity houses are being modeled: a lodge (beds for 2-6 people) , a small conventional house (12-22), a mid-sized conventional house (24-32) and a large commercial house (40-44).

The program will include:

• Floor plans with measurements and side illustrations to help convey information on key components like furniture

• A sample set of specifications that can be applied to all models

• An artist rendering of the front façades in at least three architectural styles

The designs will comply with International Building Code and emphasize marketability to the future student, durability, energy efficiency and life safety. These apartment/fraternity hybrids will exhibit a timeless quality, exuding strength, prominence, tradition and permanence.
