NIH Grant AssistanceColes Hall Improvements 2009 - NIH C06 Grant Application Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas The Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine asked Treanor Architects to assist their faculty with an NIH C06 Grant application. The proposed project would consists of renovating an existing mechanical penthouse to a modern, roof-top laboratory. The mechanical systems would also be replaced with more energy efficient units. The design highlights included fully flexible laboratory casework, extensive glazing to maximize daylight opportunities, and open-design to encourage collaboration amongst researchers. Transgenic and Biobehavioral Measurement Animal Facility 2004 - NIH Grant Application University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas This successful grant application was for renovation and modification of Malott Hall for the proposed Transgenic Mouse Facility and laboratories for Biobehavioral Measurement. Malott Hall houses the campus vivarium and the renovated area connects to existing animal support areas. Subsequent to the grant award, Treanor Architetcs team was selected to perform the renovation work. Completed in 2007, the Trangenic and Biobehavioral Measurement Facility included renovation of approximately 5,500 square feet of an existing animal care facility to accommodate new research. Dolph Simons Bioscience Laboratories, Addition for the Vaccine and Macromolecular Stabilization Institute, 2004 - NIH Grant Application, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas This proposed project was a phased research and support space addition to the Dolph Simons Laboratories, including BL3 laboratories. The project was to be completed in 2 phases: 32,000 square feet and 20,000 square feet respectively to the existing 48,000 square foot facility. Existing flexible laboratory concepts were replicated in the addition, and the Pharmaceutical Chemistry departmental offices were to be included in phase 2. |
