New principals bring expertise in historic preservation, justice projects
LAWRENCE, KS – Treanor Architects, P.A., is pleased to announce the appointment of Joy Coleman and Jay Zimmerschied to its team of principals. The two joined Treanor’s leadership team effective January 1.
Coleman has played an integral role in the preservation and restoration of the Kansas Statehouse, the renovation of the Truman Memorial Building in Independence, Mo., and the restoration and renovation of Topeka’s Great Overland Station. Coleman has practiced at Treanor since 1999. She is a 1996 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design & Planning.

Treanor Justice Team to Analyze Pottawatomie County Facilities
WESTMORELAND – The Pottawatomie Board of County Commissioners has hired Treanor Architects, P.A., to create a master plan for its justice facilities.
The plan will include options for the development of a new jail, courthouse and sheriff’s offices. It also will evaluate the current courthouse for re-use of the existing space.
Treanor is undertaking the project in conjunction with Voorhis Associates, Inc., a Colorado-based firm that will assist in facility, operational and strategic planning for Pottawatomie County’s justice system needs. The assessment is scheduled for completion in February 2010.

Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center to host graduation in new auditorium
Kansas Attorney General Steve Six will address new law enforcement officers at the first graduation ceremony to be conducted in the newly constructed 800-seat Integrity Auditorium at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28.
