Academic Center: Benedictine College

Atchison, Kansas

Sitting atop a bluff overlooking the Missouri River Valley, Benedictine College's new academic center is designed to fulfill the mission of the college: educating young men and women in a community of faith and scholarship. The academic center will be placed at the end of two existing buildings to form the third edge of a traditional collegiate quad.

The new academic center will house state-of-the-art classrooms, as well as faculty, departmental and administrative offices. Lounge spaces are included at every level to build community and to promote learning outside of the classroom. A campus meeting center will provide space for continuing education seminars and conferences as well as private dining for the college board of directors.

The building is on track to achieve LEED certification from the US Green Building Council.
