USD 372 Silver Lake Bond Improvement Projects
USD 372 - SIlver Lake
Improvements to Existing School CampusPassage of a bond issue in the Spring of 2007 provided the opportunity to construct many improvements to the existing Silver Lake school campus. The goal of the school district was to improve the safety and security of the students and staff, expand several buildings to help solve space shortage problems, and improve accessibility. The Elementary School package includes a ten classroom addition, a gymnasium addition, and an office addition. The classroom addition allows for all-day kindergarten as well as 1st and 2nd grades. The office addition provides for improved security of the staff and students as well as expanded facilities for teacher conferences, student health and teacher workspace areas. The gymnasium is sized to allow for high school athletics and public use. The Junior-Senior High School package included an office addition, a library and computer media center addition, an addition to the Vo-Ag wood and metals shop with a covered connection between this building and the high school, and interior remodeling to provide new classroom space for special needs students. The High School office addition has similar attributes as the elementary office providing safety and security, meeting space and work areas for teachers and staff. The library and computer media center provide space for two large computer classrooms as well as expanded library stack and reading space. |
