State-of-the-Art Venues

Unified School District 501 of Topeka, Kansas desired to build a new sports park with competition level play fields and facilities to serve the three Topeka High School programs, and a state-of -the-art venues that can support and host State and Regional championship games and tournaments. The scope of service was to provide complete architectural design services. The documents were divided into three different packages to facilitate a fast-track delivery for the facility.

The Hummer Sports Park includes a 6,000-seat football and track stadium, 2,000-seat soccer stadium, track and field area, two baseball fields, two softball fields, and an aquatic center. The Capitol Federal Natatorium is a state of the art competition venue with facilities for long course, short course and spring board diving. Spectator seating is designed for 1,000 and team support areas make the facility a favorite of the swimmers throughout the region.

Since the park’s opening, it has received very positive reviews from patrons and visitors around the region.
